After many years of waiting, ODE is officially bringing back Spirit Days in the 2019-2020 school year
So, as mentioned ODE Spirit Days are coming back. But how did this come about? When is the first Spirit Day, what is the first, and How many will there be? These are some of the questions I will be answering in this article.
To answer the first question, this all started a few weeks ago when someone approached Mrs. Ginter, the director, with the idea to bring back Spirit Days and in turn the ODE Student Council. At first, the plan was to have Mrs. Black help plan the technical parts of the Spirit Days while a student council did all of the planning. Sadly though, this plan has not come to fruition. Mrs. Black will not be able to organize Spirit Days and there is no student council. Though, as stated in the title, Spirit Days are back. So how? Well, one student has offered to plan all the Spirit Days while sending them to Ms. Ginter. This student has told me that he is still open to suggestions about future Spirit Days and that anyone can go to him and tell him their ideas.
So far, ten Spirit Days spread out over the course of 27 weeks have been planned. As of right now the first Spirit Day is planned to be Costume Day on October 25th. This Spirit Day has been picked due to the fact that Halloween is coming up fast. Keep in mind that this isn’t celebrating Halloween but merely giving students a chance to wear their costumes throughout the day. Also remember that this is for students of all grades and that you can wear these costumes all day. DO NOT include large violent weapons like guns or knives. Swords, bows, and daggers are permitted if they do not have sharp edges or fake blood stains.
Lastly from reading this article I’m sure you have one bigger question. Who is planning all of these Spirit Days? Luckily, he has given me permission to tell everyone. This person is ME! I am the one planning these spirit days. I am the one open to suggestions. I am the one who if you have ideas you can tell.
Further down below in this article is the current schedule of all the ODE Spirit Days. Please remember that some of these can change if I am presented with a better idea for a Spirit Day. All ideas are welcome and will be considered, but it is not guaranteed that your idea will be used. As of right now the plan is to have an article one week before each Spirit Day explaining that one. As of right now one Spirit Day idea is under review. Formal Day. Thank you to Zoomy Muhamad for coming up with this idea. For the full ODE Spirit Day schedule please look below.
